Develop Your Training

You have had a chance to read about the components of the Teaching Research Inservice Model, now you will have an opportunity to practice applying what you have learned.

To guide you through this activity we have developed a curriculum for which you will be designing the training. This fictional district (your district) has adopted a new Physical Education curriculum and you have the responsibility of designing the training program for all teachers who will be expected to implement the new curriculum in their elementary classrooms.

The newly adopted curriculum is composed of several key pieces:

  • a lesson planning system (XYZ Lesson Plans)
  • an assessment system (Student Assessment)
  • a feedback system (XYZ Performance Feedback System)
  • specific exercise techniques (Specialized Exercise Techniques)
  • adaptations for children with special needs (Adaptation for Students with Special Needs).
Click for form in pdf format To view the XYZ Curriculum (a listing of curriculum materials, key components and resources to use in training the teachers to implement the XYZ program), click the following link for Word format or click the icon at right for pdf format.

This material will be used in developing your training in the following sections.
