Professional Development

The Teaching Research Inservice Model (TRIM) represents a process for the design,
development, and evaluation of continuing professional development efforts.

This training model provides a district or agency with a model for the development of both long and short-range staff development goals. The practices and training procedures utilized within this inservice model are consistent with current state-of-the-art inservice practices in education and business today. The model is based on a process approach and is not tied to any particular content. It has been used to develop training for professionals and paraprofessionals from a variety of disciplines and in numerous content areas. The model is most useful to those interested in training that results in skill level outcomes. The format of the training session includes lecture, small group discussion, and role-play.

In the TRIM workshop, participants will learn how to:

  • assess staff training needs
  • identify desired training outcomes and competencies
