Second Step: A Violence Prevention Curriculum – Family Guide for Preschool/ Kindergarten-Grade 5.
 

This program familiarizes parents and caregivers with the Second Step curricula, and demonstrates ways to reinforce Second Step skills at home.

 

(Note:  The Second Step Family Guide is a supplement to the Second Step Violence Prevention Curriculum.  The Second Step curriculum is designed to reduce impulsive and aggressive behavior in children and increase their level of social competence.  It does this by teaching skills in empathy, emotion management and problem solving.)

  This program focuses on developing relationships with families and cultural considerations that may impact partnering with famlies.  This program was developed and evaluated at the Teaching Research Institute.
