Professional Organizations for Teachers
  • American Council on Rural Special Education (ACRES) is an organization comprised of special educators, general educators, related service providers, administrators, teacher trainers, researchers, and parents who are committed to the enhancement of services to students and individuals living in rural America.
  • The Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is a unique international, nonprofit, nonpartisan association of professional educators whose jobs cross all grade levels and subject areas.
  • The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.
  • Council for Children with Behavior Disorders (CCBD)
    The official division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) committed to promoting and facilitating the education and general welfare of children and youth with emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • The Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) is an international organization concerned about issues related to students with learning disabilities. Working to build a better future for students with LD has been the primary goal of CLD for more than 20 years. Involvement in CLD helps members stay abreast of current issues that are shaping the field, affecting the lives of students, and influencing professional careers.
  • The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) (NAEYC) is the nation's largest organization of early childhood professionals and others dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education programs for children birth through age eight.
  • National Education Association (NEA)
    The nation's leading organization committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA has 2.7 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliates in every state, as well as in more than 13,000 local communities across the United States.
  • The National Rural Education Association (NREA) is the oldest established national organization of its kind in the United States. Formerly known as the REA, the Association traces its origins back to 1907 when it was originally founded as the Department of Rural Education. Through the years it has evolved as a strong and respected organization of rural school administrators, teachers, board members, regional service agency personnel, researchers, business and industry representatives and others interested in maintaining the vitality of rural school systems across the country.
  • Oregon Education Association The mission of the Oregon Education Association is to assure quality public education for every student in Oregon by providing a strong, positive voice for school employees.

  • Confederation of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) COSA is the umbrella or mother organization for four departments:

  • National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE)
    National organization that is exclusively concerned with the education of language-minority students in American schools.

    • Professionals are supported with resources, communicy and services for members and information for others in the human communication field.
    • The public (parents, families, media and others) is supported with information about communication disorders.
    • Current and prospective students of audiology or speech-language pathology are supported with information and resources.

  • Occupational Therapy Association of Oregon The mission of OTAO is to support its' membership by providing direction and vision for the profession while promoting excellence in the practice of Occupational Therapy.
  • Oregon Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. For licensing information and laws governing SLPs and SLPAs.
  • Oregon Physical Therapy Association The Oregon Physical Therapy Association, a component of the American Physical Therapy Association, was incorporated in 1954 as an Oregon non-profit entity.
  • Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSHA). OSHA is recognized as the official professional organization for Oregon speech-language pathologists and audiologists by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
