Magnet Schools and Teacher Academies

Some school districts have gone a step further and have created
magnet schools and teacher academies within thier schools.
These programs offer a teaching focus woven throughout the
entire curriculum, an across the board teaching focus.

Multilingual Teaching Academy The vision of the Multilingual Teaching Academy is:

  • to provide an excellent education and prepare students for college
  • to establish and maintain bilingual abilities
  • to prepare our young people to be the teachers of the future.

A Guide to Developing High School Teaching Career Academies
This toolkit takes best practices from high school teaching academies around the country, and organizes them into steps needed to design and implement these innovative programs. The purpose of this toolkit is to help districts plan and develop teaching academies, in order to nurture and "grow" prospective teachers who are committed to serving their schools and communities.
