R&R Project - Mentoring

The primary criteria for the selection of mentors includes:

Being viewed as experts by their peers.
Having demonstrated excellence in working with other teachers and school staff.
The skills to convey concepts and ideas to others.
The ability to be reflective and analytical regarding teaching.
A familiarity with resources available in the district.
The ability to act as a coordinator and referral source to the new teacher on training and related resources.
The desire to mentor and work with beginning teachers.
A commitment to their role of leadership.
Being currently in a teaching position (or recently retired) and have worked within the district for at least five years.
