This statement will help the Admissions and Review Committee understand your interest in Teaching. Please answer each question separately.

1) Discuss your experiences learning to read and write in two languages. (Please, explain when, where and how you became literate in two languages).

2) Consider this problem: When a student arrives at school speaking a language other than English what would be the best program to effectively help this child?

I understand that by participating in this program I am making a commitment to teach in the Bronx Public Schools for three years after I receive my teaching certification. If I don’t fulfill this commitment I will have to repay the U.S. Department of Education.
